Thanksgiving Basket

I really like how this basket came out. It is two Spellbinder Scallop Circles with the box in the middle. I embossed it with the cuttlebug pumpkin folder. Then cut out the leaves from sizzix. The button is from Stampin Up's Itty Bitty Button set.

I am thinking about making a Christmas one. If I do, I may make a tutorial out of it.

Thanksgiving Card

I made this card last weekend and forgot to post it. This week was busy. I made a couple of things but didn't have time to post them, so I will try and get everything scanned.

November Birthdays

This is the card I am using for all of my November birthdays. I guess it is a good thing no one in my family looks at my blog. :) The stamp is by Impression Obsession.

Halloween at work

I almost forgot to post the treat cups I made for everyone at work. I am also including a picture my husband took before I walked out the door.

I used the sweet treat cups from Stampin' Up. I thought the spiders came out adorable.

Great Impressions

I never know what title to put on my post.

I have been sick this week so I haven't stamped too much. I still need to put the finishing touches on my Halloween treat cards for everyone at work. Hopefully I will finish them up tomorrow.

I worked on my Thanksgiving cards today during the football games. This is what I came up with. The turkey and sunflowers are by Great Impressions. I picked up these stamps a couple of years ago and this is the first time I have actually used them. I really liked the way the card came together.

Supplies:
Stamps: Great Impressions F334 Henry; Great Impressions H164 Peeking Sunflower
Copic Markers: G24, E31, E33, YR68, YR02, G21, E43, R29, Y11, Y17

Halloween or Thanksgiving ?

I don't know if I will use this card for Halloween or Thanksgiving. I have had this unmounted stamp for some time and I think it gets pulled out every year. I have tried several times to find the company but I haven't had any luck yet.

I thought I was finished with my Halloween cards but I have seen a few ideas that I want to mess around with. I still need to come up with something for everyone at work. Maybe this weekend.

More New Stamps & Supplies

One of the things that made this week so busy was that my boss sent me to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a day. It was a great trip and I enjoyed it for several reasons. 1) It got me out of the lunchroom for the day. I love working in the school with all of the kids but sometimes it is just fun to get out and do some thing different. 2) I was able to swing by my son's college and spend a couple of hours with him. We just sat around his apartment and caught up. It was just wonderful to see him and spend some one on one time together. 3) There is a great scrapbook store in town that I love to stop at. I came away with all kinds of goodies for the upcoming holiday season. You will be seeing most of these supplies being used over the next few weeks.

Stampin' Up Order

Well, I didn't get a card made Saturday and this week has been extremely busy.

My Stampin' Up order came in today. I can't wait play around with my new things but it may be next week before I get a chance. Stay tuned for some Christmas cards using the new sets.

Denami

After a long day at work Thursday, I came home and was just relaxing on my computer. Hitting a couple of my favorite sites, when all of a sudden there was one of my cards featured on Denami Designs. I was shocked. You can find the post here on Denami's blog.

Denami is also running a contest today for World Card Making Day. If you leave a comment, they will be picking two names to win gift certificates. Go over and check it out.

I will be back later today with at least one card. I plan on stamping while watching college football. Go Alabama....Roll Tide Roll.

What is it?

My son has always been my go to guy. If I made something and I needed a second opinion, he always helped me out. I really miss my son....

Punches

When I am not making cards, I love to play with my punches. Actually I don't have as many as I would like so I always end up borrowing some from my stamp buddy. I am not creative enough to come up with my ideas so I am always surfing the web to get ideas. So thank you to all of those wonderful punch addicts.

Here are some of my favorite sites.

LeeAnn Greff at Flowerbug's Inkspot
Ellen Kemper at Blinkin', Thinkin', & Inkin'
Kim Score at Paper Punch Addiction

I have a 6X6 album that I keep all of my patterns in. The picture for today's creation doesn't come out as well as I would like it to, but I think you will get the idea. I snagged the idea from Flowerbug's Inkspot. I didn't have the correct punches so I used what I had.I used the following punches....
Stampin' Up Boho Blossom
Spellbinder Label 1
Spellbinder Large Scalloped Octagon
1/4" Circle
1/2" Circle
1 3/4" Circle
Stampin' Up Heart to Heart
Stampin' Up Scallop

Back to my stamping table. I will try to post more of my pages once I get a new printer/scanner.

Holly Berry House

I started these earlier in the week and I finally sat down and finished them. The main stamp is by Holly Berry House. I have looked at their stamps several times but I just never picked one up. I brought this at the Novi Stamp Convention. It has a lot of straight lines so I thought it would be easier to cut out. I think I am going to make a sample sheet and try out some different color combinations. Red and green will be first, but I think light blue and white glitter would be pretty for the winter months, and then red and pink for Valentines. I will post the sample sheet when I finish it.

Supplies:
Stamps: Holly Berry House Stamp 1707-N, Embossing Arts 403-F Proud to be American
Papers: The Paper Patch B593 Navy Brush Strokes and Red Stars, Colors by Design SQ107
Copic Markers: R27, B26

Belated Birthday Bag

I went back to work this week. I always make a card and a treat for everyone's birthday and I missed two during the summer break. I love the Stampin' Up Top Note Die and I saw this watermelon on Prairie Paperie and I just had to snag the design. The box is a dark green, but it looks black in this picture.

I have seen so many boxes using the top note. I just adore them. I have seen a flag I want to make with it next.

Cuttlebug Machine

I have the Sizzix Big Shot. My mother has the Cuttlebug machine. I like both. My mother is always asking how to stack her machine for the various dies and embossing folders. I found this chart and I told I would share it in case someone else needs it.

You will need to be able to open pdf files on your computer.

Sleepless Night

I couldn't sleep so I decided to get up. I had something totally different in mind when I sat down at my stamping table but when I stamped out the scallop it was just too big. I wanted to do a card for the Denami Birthday challenge so this is what I came up with.

Simple but I think it is really cute. The little chickie has fun fluff on it.

Supplies:
Stamps: Denami Chickie with Flower (C72), Denami Small Dot Circle Frame (E114), MorningStar Circle Birthday (I02)
Copic Markers: Y11, G21, E97, YR02, R81

Ink Pads: Colorbox Chalk Rouge
Accessories: Spellbinder Scallop Circles, Spellbinder Circles, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, Denami Fun Fluff

My violets

I have never had a green thumb. Two years ago, when my Grandmother died, she had a couple of violets in her carport/patio area. My mother, who can grow anything, told me to take them because she had never been able to keep violets. I just knew I was going to kill them. However, they have just been unbelievable. I started with three and now I have 7. These two were blooming yesterday when I watered them, so I took a couple of pictures.

I always think of my Grandmother when I look at them. Even though, we were close, I miss her.

Back to stamping

I have spent the last week moving my son into his college apartment. He actually moved on Saturday, but I have been cleaning up the mess since then. I still have a few things to do but hopefully by the weekend things will be back to normal.

When my parent's came for graduation, my mother bought some of her stamps. One was this lighthouse. I don't know who is it by but I finally sat down and colored it and then I had to come up with a card for it. I used the pocket card tutorial from Splitcoaststampers. The card is really easy to put together.
Supplies:
Stamps: Darcie's JCS0038
Copic Markers: C1, G24, R39, R27, E97, B32, Y02, E31, Y28

Red, White & Blue

I am and always will be very patriotic. I love using my patriotic stamps. My son's best friend just left recently for boot camp. He is stationed in Columbus, Georgia at Ft. Benning right now. If you live down south, you know the temperatures have been unreal. I feel for him having to go through basic training in triple digit temperatures.

I wanted to make him a card and I decided to try Splitcoaststamper's weekly tutorial, (The tent card). It was fun and quick to make. It will be a tutorial that I will use again. I did make one change, my bottom accordion section was 3 1/2" X 5 1/2".

Supplies:
Stamps: House Mouse "Patriotic Wrap", Stamp It "God Bless America/lg"
Copic Markers: E31, E33, R27, Y11, B24
Papers: The Paper Patch "Navy tiny stars/scarlet tiny stars", basic white, red and blue cardstock
Accessories: 2 largest Spellbinder circles, Paper Studio Star Punch

Stamping 411 SSC164

I haven't been doing a lot of stretches lately, but I am going to try to get a couple done this week. I am also going to try and put a little bit more detail on what I used to make the card.

This stretch will be from Stamping 411.

Once again, I am still playing with my Denami Design stamps. I will be moving on eventually. You can't see it but I used fun fluff from Denami on the chickies.

New Copic Marker Storage

I was out looking for bargains on Friday and I found this utility container that I thought would be perfect for my copic markers. I don't have a lot but I bet it will be full before next summer starts.

Another Denami

I started this one on Friday, but I just haven't taken the time to take a picture. Both of the pears are Denami Design stamps. I put glitter on the larger pear and on the middle strip on the plaid background.

The plaid strip is the same one I used on the last card.

Denami Design Stamp

I am still playing with my new Denami stamps. It took forever for me to design this one. I couldn't figure out how I wanted it to look. I knew which stamps I wanted to use but that was it.

I love the plaid background. This is a single strip and you make the plaid. I have several background stamps, but I think this will be a favorite. So many possibilities.

It is hard to tell but there is glitter on all of the little pool floaties.

Novi Stamp Convention

Sorry I have been missing. I have been working on a few projects around the house, reformating my computer and getting my son ready to leave for college. We will be moving my son into his college apartment in a little under two weeks. I still have a lot to do. Then school starts two weeks later which means I will be going back to work. It will be strange not seeing my son in the school but it hopefully will be a good year. This past weekend, I worked at the Novi Stamp Convention for Denami Designs. If you aren't familiar with their stamps, check them out. It was a fun and enjoyable weekend. I really enjoyed meeting Nami and her family. Her two sons are sweet, polite, cute and well behaved. I would bring both home with me in a heartbeat. I hope I get to work for them again next year.

I came home and had to play around with some of my Denami stamps. You will be seeing a lot of them over the next few days/weeks. This is a cute little apple basket. I did it in yellow, red, green and a mixed basket.

Country Morning

The Stampin' Up set Country Morning is one of my favorites. It is one of the coming up retired sets. I have been playing around with it. This is what I made. I have one more idea I want to work but I need to make one more Father's Day card first.

Be back later.....

Quickutz Flower

While my parents were in town for my son's graduation, my Mom picked up this quickutz die at hobby lobby. I just had to play around with it.

On the yellow flower, I used copic markers Y000, Y11, Y02. The pink flower has RV21, RV02, and RV34.

Stampin' Up Thoughts & Prayer Set

I was look around Splitcoaststampers and I ran across a card and I just had to try the technique. The tutorial can be found here. I just love the look. I hope everyone enjoys it.

I am going to try and post more about the cards...

I used the above technique to get the clear area and then stamped it with the "Thoughts & Prayers" set by Stampin' Up. I colored the embossed flowers with Copic RV21. Oh, I almost forgot the embossed area is using the Stampin' Up texture folder "Petals A Plenty".

I will be using the technique again.

Graduation Cards 2

Here are two more cards I have made for the class of 2010. The gown one is my son's favorite.

The paper on the second one has embossed graduation caps. The picture doesn't do the paper justice. The stamp is in the new Stampin' Up summer mini.

Graduation Cards

I have been busy finishing up the school year and getting ready for my son's graduation. Both are over and I have the summer ahead of me. As always, I have some major projects to work on, but hopefully I will have lots of time to play.

Here is one of the graduation cards I made for my son's friends...

It is a tri-fold card using the school colors, blue and gold. I used Stampin' Up Congrats, Stampin' Up Say It With Scallops and Impression Obsession Graduation.

I will post some other cards later this afternoon, along with a couple of my son's graduation pictures.

Moving things around

I once had a craft room, but I found I just didn't like the lighting or something. I was always in the living area stamping so I moved everything into that area a couple of years ago and made my craft room a office/quest bedroom. A couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time for another change. I moved my craft area again. It has taken me for ever to get everything moved but I love the new area. It is still in the living area but it is off to the side so when I leave a mess it doesn't get in the way. Here are some pictures....

Graduation cards coming up next....
