Saturday Round-up

I am so terrible about posting a recap.  I will try to be better.

I have been working alot and my migraines have been really bad.  I have a doctor's appointment next week and I hope we can figure something out.  I am tried of having a migraine constantly.

The only thing that I have added in the last couple of weeks is new cards.  Even though, I am not thinking straight, it does help to relax a little bit and making cards is definitely relaxing.

I hope to get to the park this week to take some fall pictures before it is too late.  I may even stop on the way to the doctor's office and get some of a local pond.

There isn't any thoughts for this week.  I will hopefully have some next week.

Have a great week.

Sunday Round-Up

Since I always seem to get busy on Saturday and the round-up never gets done, I am going to try Sunday and see if I can do better on Sunday.

The only changes to the site are on the stamping page.  I haven't done as much as I was during the summer but I am still trying to find the time to make something.  I do have a few new recipes I want to add to the recipe page.  Hopefully this week.  I also have some new pictures of family to add to the photo page.

Thoughts of the week:
1)  My In-Laws have come and gone.  It was a quick but fun visit.  It is always fun spending time with family.

2)  It was homecoming weekend at school this past week.  It was busy but once again it was fun watching the kids.  The football team even won the game.  Congrats to all of the football players.

3)  Starting mid-week it was very humid.  We finally got the rain today and I am really enjoying the fall temperatures now.  I hope it stays this way.

4)  My nephew asked his girlfriend of over 5 years to marry him.  She said yes and I am so excited for both of them.  I may be wrong but I am expecting a long engagement.  I love the excitement of engagements.  I hope both will be happy.

I hope every one has a great week.

Saturday Round-Up

Hello.  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  I went to do this early and I got a phone call and then never made it back.  I seem to always be late doing this.  I think it is because late evening is when the house gets quiet and I get a lot done during that time.

I feel like I am still in my slump as far as cards go, but I am slowly getting out of it.  I made several cards this week and most I even liked, so that is better.  I didn't get any thing else added to the site, but I have high hopes for next week.

Thoughts of the week:
   1) My In-Laws will be visiting in a couple of weeks.  I am really looking forward to a visit with them.  Plus my son will be coming home the same weekend, so he can spend some time with them also.
   2)  Because of the visit, I will be doing some major straighten around the house.  It will be busy, but I will feel great after I get it all done.  We are even looking at new mattresses.
   3)  Today was college football day around this house.  University of Alabama had a big game today against Texas A&M.  It was a great game and Alabama came out on top.  Hip Hip Hooray!!!
   4)  I am so glad to see the Fall lineup of TV shows starting back.  I hate when every thing is reruns.  Sons of Anarchy started this week.

That is about it for now.  Chat with all of you later.  Have a great week.

Saturday Round-Up

Hello everyone.  Sorry I am a day late on posting this.  I came down with a cold this week and I just been so tired.  Hopefully, it is on its way and next week will be better.

Even though, I was sick, I did add post to most of the pages.  Several new projects on stamping, a couple of new recipes that I found on the web, and even so pictures.  I am enjoying the last of my roses before the winter weather hits.

I had wanted to get some pictures of all of the buses lined up at the school, but it was a busy day and I never made it to the front of the school.  Maybe next year.

I haven't set any goals this week.  I am just going to wait until after I am over the cold.

Thoughts for the week:

   1)  Alabama is on a off week this week, but there is still some good games on.  Michigan vs Notre Dame should be good and I will try the SC vs Georgia just because...

   2)  It is so hard to believe that fall is here.  I am not ready to make the change from summer to fall, but I will be working on it this week.  Time to drag out the Halloween decorations.

   3)   As I said earlier, I am been sick this week.  I hate getting colds.  I hate the stuffiness and the congestions.  Nothing is worse than not being able to breath.

   4)  I really want to bake some homemade cookies this week, does any one have a favorite recipe?

I hope everyone has a great week this week.

I am even changing my name tag to a fall one.

Saturday Round-Up

I am a little late with the round-up but it is Saturday for another 30 minutes.  This was my last week off from work.  School starts back on Tuesday and that means back to work.  Time to cook the lunches for all the kids.

Several new projects on the stamping page and even a new recipe on the recipe page.  I also posted a craft project on the main page.  There was also a big announcement on the stamping page.

Goals for the coming week:
   1)  Stay on top of the house work.
   2)  Enjoy a long weekend with my son who is home from college...

Thoughts:
   1)  I am so glad that college football starts this weekend.
   2)  My son is home for a few days and I am so glad, but I am going to try not to get frustrated when he spends more time with friends than at home.

That is it for now.  I hope everyone has a good week.

Yarn Letters

I have seen these letters on Pinterest several times and I decided to make one.   Figured I would put it on top of my new craft book shelf.  I had been warned that they weren't easy to put together.  That the corners were always difficult.  So I was expecting the worse, but it was easier than I thought.  I think it came out really well.

I put it on the home page because there is no stamping involved.  Just a quick craft project.

I hope every one had a great weekend and that next week is equally as great.

Saturday Round Up

Hello everyone.  Well another week has come and gone.  I didn't get as much done as I would have like but that is okay.  It was still a good week.

Lots of new projects on the stamping page.

Goals for this week:
   1)  Still haven't made it back on the treadmill.  I had a wisdom tooth cut out Friday, so it will be mid week before I can get on the treadmill but I am going to try real hard to get on it on Wednesday.
   2)  Straighten the whole house.  This is the last week of summer break so I want to get every thing done.
   3)  Get out and take some pictures.

Thoughts for the week:

   1)  As I mentioned, I had a tooth pulled/cut out.  It broke several months ago and I finally made a dentist appointment.  I have never noticed but I must chew on that side of my mouth the most, because it has been awkward.

   2)  Anyone have been plans for Labor Day.  My son will be home for the long weekend so I am just looking forward to some family time, if he doesn't spend the whole time with friends.

   3)  I want some homemade cookies.  Maybe I will get around to making some this week.

Well that's it for this week.  I hope you are enjoying the weekend.

Saturday Round Up

I am going to try and get back into the swing of things and toward that end, I am going to try and close out the week every Saturday and include some of my silly thoughts.

There was lots of stamping projects posted on the stamping page and I even posted a new recipe.  I haven't taken any pictures lately but I am going to pull out my camera this week.  Hopefully, it will be some thing besides my flower bed.

My goals for the week are as follows:

   1) Get back on the treadmill.  I would love to walk/run three times this week.
   2)  Stay on top of the housework, especially in the kitchen.
   3)  Continue to stamp...
   4)  Start organizing my recipes again.

That is a starting point for goals.  Let's see how I do on them.

Thoughts for the week:  I didn't write a lot down this week.  I will have to remember to do this as the week goes by....

   1)  Where has the summer gone?  Public schools start back the week after Labor Day in Michigan and that is two weeks away.  I am ready to go back to work but I will miss being at home all day and the summer weather.  Fall will fly by with lots of activity and before we know it, there will be winter.  Enough said....

   2)  Organizing...I am usually a perfectionist.  I am always looking for quicker and better ways to do things and every thing has to have a place.  I have let some things slip but it is time to re-evaluate.

   3)  Fall flowers...What fall flowers do you like?  Especially if you live in Michigan.  I usually just put out some mums.

I am going to close with a rose picture from the world wide web.  As time goes by, I hope to use some of my flowers.

That's it for this week.  I hope every one has a great week.

Summer's Almost Over

It is hard to believe that schools in Michigan will be starting back in less than six weeks.  Where has the summer gone.  My husband and I talked about several short trips/vacations but nothing came of the talking.  We have spent the summer at home.  And that is okay with me.  I have just relaxed and enjoyed the time off.

At the beginning of summer, I got a couple of new rose bushes.  I ordered through the mail and they were all bare roots, so they have had to grow alot.  I wasn't expecting any roses this summer.  One was a peach color and yesterday, I cut the first rose off of it.  The bush is still small, but it is blooming.  I am still getting roses off my red and yellow bushes.  Plus the yellow/pink multicolor bush is loaded with buds.

Well off to read for a little while.  I hope everyone is enjoying the summer.

Until later.....

Last Day of School

Today is the last day of school.  Bring on summer vacation.  I am so looking forward to the time off.  I will still be working my other job, but it is just part time so I should have time to work on some projects.

I hope everyone has a great summer.  Time time to enjoy it.

Have a Great June 1st

No picture today.  I just wanted to take a moment and welcome in June.  I can't believe it is June 1st already.  I have two more weeks of school.  I can't wait.  I am looking forward to summer vacation.  Hopefully, I will have more time on here.

I didn't post as much as I would have liked last month.  My migraines have been giving me fits.  I don't know if it is an allergy thing or what.  Hopefully, they will level off soon.

My son is come from college so I should have some pictures of him to post soon.  Plus my flower bed is doing great.

Off to do a few things around the house.  I hope to have some cards to post on the stamping page today and maybe a recipe or two on that page.  Check back later.

Have a great weekend.

Happy Mother's Day

I just wanted to take a moment to wish all the Mothers Happy Mother's Day.

Thursday, May 2, 2013

May already?

I can't believe it is the first of May.  I took a short walk today and I just had to take a picture of the community entryway.  The trees are so pretty.

Spring Break

This week is spring break at the local high school and that means I get the week off.  I am so looking forward to some down time.  I have a few household projects I want to get done, but I am planning on relaxing some too.

I am leaving my Easter things out until later in the week.  I so hope spring is on its way.

It is lunchtime and I have gotten the master bedroom and bathroom, the craftroom, and entryway clean.  The laundry is also washed.  I am off to clean the dining room and fold the clothes.  I also want to start a summertime project list.

Well I will chat with all of you later.  Have a great day.

Watermelon

One of the great things about summer is watermelon.  I look forward to it each year.  I noticed this week that the first ones have hit the grocery stores.  They are still a little high for my budget but I can't wait for them to come down in prices just a little so I can pick up my first one of the season.  I always buy the seedless ones and then I cut it up and put it in the refrigerator so I can have some when ever I want it.

So since I was thinking about watermelon today, I decided to include some fun tips and tricks.....

 Picking a Watermelon

---  Look at the watermelon.  It should be firm and free of bruises, cuts or dents.
---  Pick it up.  It should be heavy.  Watermelon is 92% water.
---  The bottom of the watermelon should have a yellow spot from where it sat on the ground.

According to Guinness World Records, the world's heaviest watermelon was grown by Lloyd Bright of Arkansas in 2005, weighing in at 268.8 lbs.

The US currently ranks fourth in worldwide production of watermelon.  Forty-four states grow watermelons with Florida, Texas, California, Georgia and Arizona consistently leading the country.

Watermelon has excellent levels of vitamins A and C and a good level of vitamin B6.

  • Vitamin A found in watermelon is important for optimal eye health and boosts immunity by enhancing the infection-fighting actions of white blood cells called lymphocytes.
  • Vitamin B6 found in watermelon helps the immune system produce antibodies. Antibodies are needed to fight many diseases. Vitamin B6 helps maintain normal nerve function and form red blood cells. The body uses it to help break down proteins. The more protein you eat, the more vitamin B6 you need.
  • Vitamin C in watermelon can help to bolster the immune system's defenses against infections and viruses and can protect a body from harmful free radicals that can accelerate aging and conditions such as cataracts.
  • A two-cup serving of watermelon is also a source of potassium*, a mineral necessary for water balance and found inside of every cell. People with low potassium levels can experience muscle cramps.
So I hope you get to enjoy some watermelon this spring and/or summer.

Organizing

I haven't posted in a while, sorry about that.  I have been surfing the web some this afternoon.  I thought I would post some of the ideas I came across.  I love to have my house organized.  What can I say I am a perfectionist.  I like everything to have a place.

I ran across this website.  I have seen the cork idea before.  The extension cord idea would never work because my husband is an electrician and extension cords have to be folded a certain way, but the birdhouse and the hook idea would work.  Check them out and see what you think.

Great View

I had to go have a MRI last week.  It was on the new wing of the hospital.  This is the view above the MRI.  It was just so pretty that I had to take a picture of it.

Hello

Hello.  I haven't been on line this week.  I am hoping to catch up tonight and tomorrow.

This is my one and only son.  He came home a couple of weeks ago for a surprise visit.  It was great having him home for a few days.  It is hard too believe that he will be home for his summer break from college in a little over 3 months.

I spent today in the kitchen cooking.  I put up chicken nuggets, 10 individual chicken breast, made vanilla ice cream, butterscotch lava cakes, and dinner.  I also have 2 chicken breasts soaking in the refrigerator for chicken fajitas and a flank steak in the crockpot.  Tomorrow, I have ten pounds of hamburger meat to put up.  I am planning on making 3 lbs of meatballs, 2 small lasagnas, spaghetti sauce, and ???  I am still trying to figure out the other 3-4 pounds.

Overwhelmed

I am feeling so overwhelmed.  I am having some trouble dealing with the meds.  Between the pain killers from the nerve block and general changes in my regular meds, I am a little out of it.

Then I have gotten behind on my deep cleaning around the house.  I have been doing the basic stuff but I am beginning to notice some things that need to get done.  Cleaning around the baseboards, cleaning out corners, decluttering, spot cleaning the carpets, etc.

I have been doing a lot of surfing lately.  I have so many new recipes I want to try and old ones that we haven't had in a while.  My menu planning has been scattered.  I  make a plan and then I add something at the last minute.  Then the next week, I haven't completed the menu but I still want some of the things on it but I want to add more.....It is just getting out of hand.

I am going to spend the next few days trying to get things back into control.  Because it is all about control and organizing.  If I don't get my list made and stick to it.  It will just get worse.

To that end, I am going to pick a room each day and I am going to thoroughly clean it.  By Monday or Tuesday, I should have that taken care of.  I am also going to make a detailed menu and try to stick to it.  In between, I am still going to make the time to stamp and take some photos.  When all of that is done, I am going to be over some of my medical problems, and I want to get back to exercising.

Thank you for listening.

Weekly Review

Monday - I had a Radio Frequency Nerve Ablation on my neck.  Hopefully I will see some relief from the migraines soon.  I listed my Menu Planner.

Tuesday - I am thinking about adding an organizing page.  I am still thinking about it,maybe over the next few weeks.

Wednesday - I changed to look of the recipe page.  I hope everyone likes the new look.  I don't know how long I will leave it.  Purple has never been one of my favorite colors, but I do like it for now.

Friday -  With all the downtime this week, I did alot of web surfing, so there was lots of Menu Possibilities this week.  I got a little behind on posting my Photo a Day pictures, but I did get them posted.

The weather this week was just strange.  We got snow Sunday and Monday, rain Tuesday and Wednesday and then snow again Friday and Saturday.  As I write this we have about 4-6 inches on the ground.  I hope it stays around long enough for me to get some pictures tomorrow after work.

I have been working on my Valentine's Day cards this week.  You can see all of them over on the stamping page.

I hope everyone has a good week.

Randomness

I ended up having some pain from the nerve ablation.  I have been off and on pain killers all week.  I am beginning to feel better.  Hopefully next week will be a good week.  Just in time to come off my regular meds for a month and then to have the other nerve ablation done.

Now for the thoughts of the week.....

1)  Do you have a favorite TV show that you hate to miss?  My niece's is the Biggest Loser.  I think mine is Grey's Anatomy.

2)  We are snackers at this house....sweet, salty, crunchy, spicy, etc.  It doesn't matter.  Do you have a favorite snack?  Right now I am craving chocolate.  I am trying to stay away from it but it is really hard.  What do you do to stop craving some thing?

3) Our weather has been so strange this week.  Sunday we got snow, then rain on Tuesday and Wednesday and now more snow tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Organizing

I am a neat freak.  I can't stand clutter.  It doesn't mean I don't have clutter.  It just means I spend a lot of time trying to get organized.  I am always looking for new ways to save time in my house work/cleaning.  It drives every one crazy.  But at the same time, my husband and son can usually ask me where some thing is and I can tell them.

I am thinking about doing away with the health and fitness page and making a organizing page.  What does everyone think?  I can list health and fitness post on the home page.  I will think about it and let you know what I decide.  Or you will notice the changes without me talking about it.

Any comments or suggestions are always welcome.

Perplexus Maze Game by PlaSmart, Inc.

I ran across this while surfing.  My Dad loves puzzles.  I was wondering if any one has tried this and if it would be good for an adult.  Please leave a comment about your thoughts on this.

There are a couple of version.  But the original has 100 levels.  Most of the others have less.

Migraines

As I mentioned in several post, I have chronic migraines.  Which means I have migraines over 15 times a month.  I am on daily medications and it has taken the migraines down to 2-3 a week.   We have tried several different things.  It is a work in process.  I have bad days and good days.  Today, I had the Radio Frequency Ablation.  The doctor has warned me that I could have 2 or 3 days of pain afterwards.  It has been 4 hours now and I am beginning to come out of the sedation.  There is some pain but it isn't too bad.  I hope it stays that way.  I will keep you posted.

Week in Review

I didn't do a week in review on Friday so I thought I would do it now.  I am going to stop on Friday so when I do this week's, it will be a full week.

It was a busy week so I didn't get as much done on the website as I would have like.  This week should be better.  I am already working on my Menu Possibilities.

Monday - I started a new posting on the recipe page, it is going to be called Menu Planning Monday.  You can find the first posting over on the recipe page.  I hope you will be able to find some menu ideas.  I also played around in the kitchen, the results are also on the recipe page.

Wednesday - As I said, I was busy this week, so my Random Thoughts were small.  I just didn't have time to think or jot down any thoughts.  My husband's boss had surgery this week and I wanted to make her a card so you can find it over on the stamping page.

Even with everything going on, I managed to get the Photo A Day pictures.  I was late posting some of them but they are all there.  Now to get this week's pictures done.  There are also some sunset pictures.  I just love catching a pretty sunset.  One of these days, I will get up in time to get a sunrise.

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Randomness

Today is normally the day, I list just random thoughts.  This week has gone by so fast.  I really haven't had time to think.

1)  Everyone is catching the flu.  I do not want to catch it.  I am trying to stay away from it.  Hopefully I can get through the winter without it.

2)  It snowed a little bit this week.  It barely covered the ground.  If it is going to snow, I wish we would get at least three or four inches.  However, I do not like the temperatures being the single digits.

That is it for now...Have a good rest of the week.

This Week In Review

I thought I would use one of my photo a day shots for the home page.  It is cold here in Michigan and I thought it would brighten things up.

Monday - I came home from work and just relaxed.  I really didn't feeling like doing alot so it was a good thing that my house was straightened for the most part.  After dinner (Pull Pork), I got a little energy and went into my craft room.  You will find some ideas for making tic tac mint holders on the stamping page.  Then there is the Photo A Day pictures and a new recipe over the recipe page.  I also worked on some menu possibilities.

Tuesday - I found a great chart for saving money.  I have it posted on the main page.  I hope I will be able to stick with it.  There is also some things I want to work on over the next year.  I am going to try and review this list at the first of each month so I can see how I am doing.

Wednesday - I had a migraine most of the day so I haven't gotten a lot done, but I did add my "Kitchen Gadget" article.  I looked at crock-pots this week and included some recipes.  We may see crock-pots again.  I just keep seeing them everyone I go.

There is a new card over on the Stamping page.  I did a patriotic one to send to some of our military friends.  I am just so proud of them for serving our country and I wanted them to know I was thinking of them.

Friday - Check out the Menu Possibilities over on the recipe page.  You might be able to find a new recipe for dinner.

I also add a links page.  Right now, it only has cooking links but I will be adding more.

Sorry I forgot to post this yesterday.

Random Thoughts

I am sitting here surfing the web.  I should go to bed but I just don't want to.  Since I have an migraine I think I will just keep surfing the web.  I am adding to my favorite sites.  There are just so many great ones out there.  I am thinking about deleting the "Health and Fitness Page" and adding a favorite link page.

Here are my random thoughts for now.

1)  The weather on Saturday was warm and cloudy.  Here in Michigan, it reached a high of 58.  I know that sounds warm but it was still chilly.  I wish the sun had come out.  Overnight the temperatures dropped to 32.  Welcome to Michigan.

2)  I stayed up super late on Friday Night.  I so enjoy the quiet house.  I managed to get the whole house straightened and all the clothes washed.  It was nice going into the weekend with a clean house.

3)  I have been doing the Photo A Day challege for a little over a week and I must say I am enjoying it.  It is so much fun.  It takes less than 5 minutes usually.

That is it for now.  I will get better with these random thoughts.

Things to do in 2013

I will admit that I have trouble coming up with topics for my blog but I love to surf the web and I get all kinds of ideas.  I ran across one today.  It was over on Fat Mum Slim's site.

In one of her post, she makes a list of 20 ordinary things to do in 2013.  I decided to take the list and change around to fit my goals.  I didn't come up with 20 things but I did come up with a few.

1. Come up with several topics for the blog.
Like I said this is hard for me, so I am trying to keep the blog active.  Please feel free to send me any suggestions.

2. Dance to your favorite song
I love music.  Last year for Christmas (2011), my husband got me a surround sound system for the living room.  I want to turn the music on more often and just enjoy the music.

3. Plan a holiday
I don't want to really plan a holiday as much as I want to make more time for my husband.  Either here at the house or just taking a weekend from time to time.

4. Make and send out more cards
I use to make a lot of cards.  I haven't had the time lately, but I want to start again.

5. Plan menus better.
Make it easier to get meals done.

6. Spend more time with friends.

7. Read more.
It is relaxing and I need to relax more.

8. Save Money.
At the end of the year, I want to have some extra money put back.

9. Do more kind acts.
Last year, I read an article about doing random acts of kindness.  I really want to do this.  I would like to do at least one a month.  Which means, I need to do one soon.

10. Take more pictures.
I know my son is going to hate this, so I am going to do the Photo A Day challenge and maybe it will take the pressure off of my son.  He just hates having his picture taken.

Saving Money

I ran across this chart on one of the site, I hit regularly.  I love the idea.  I think it will be hard to do at the end of the year.  But I am going to try it.  My husband suggested $25.00 a week.  It comes out close to the same amount.  I think I will follow the chart and on the weeks that I have a little extra, I will put it in the fund.  That way when the end of the year comes around, I will have some stretching room.

As the years goes along, I will try and let you know how I am doing.  I am going to stop at the bank tomorrow and grab out the money for the first three weeks.  I am going to round it off to around $10.

Alabama Wreath

I took this picture for one of the Photo A Day shots.  It dawned on me that I never posted about it.

We are huge University of Alabama fans, so before football season started, I made the wreath for the front door.  I also made a smaller one for my son's room.  It was so much fun to make.

I still have it on the front door.  It will probably be coming down in the next few days because I want to make a Valentine's Day wreath.

This week's review

As promised I want to summarize my week.

Monday - I went back to work after two weeks off.  I enjoyed the time off but it was nice to get back to work.    Monday, I also posted a revision on a card I started on Saturday.  I actually finished the cards today.  Hopefully they will go in the mail to coming week.  You will find a flower picture on the the Photo page.  I just had to brighten the cold day.

Wednesday - I started a new weekly idea on the main page.  It is called "Random Thoughts".  I will be posting general things going through my mind or things I would like to get done.  I hope you enjoy the page.  I also mentioned a couple of new ideas on the recipe page.  Wednesday will be "Kitchen Gadgets".  It might be a new purchase or something on my wish list or just some thing I have found surfing the web.  The first thing I reviewed was the Kitchen Aid Ice Cream Attachment.  I even posted a recipe for Strawberry Ice Cream.  I also found a link that gives suggestions for a photo a day.  I thought it sounded like fun so I started it on Wednesday.  Go over to the photo pages and check out the photos.

Friday - I also started a new thread on the recipe for Fridays.  It will be "Menu Possibilities".  I love surfing the web so on Fridays I will post some of the links I run across that you might find interesting.

I am working on some more changes and I hope to post more often.  I hope you like the changes and come to check out the upcoming post.

Once again, I hope you have a good weekend.

Random Thoughts

It is hard to come up with ideas some times so I have been checking out other sites to see what they do.  As I find new ideas and/or suggestions, you will see some things being added.

One of the things I saw over on Brown Eyed Baker was "Friday Things".  It is just random thoughts or things that are happening.  I think I will try this.  I am going to do it on Wednesday and the post will be named Random Thoughts.  I will post it on the main page on Wednesdays.  I want to come up with a pic to use with it.

So here is my first Random Thoughts post.  My goal is to have 5 - 10 things each week.  Today's maybe smaller since it is the first one and I haven't had time to think about it.

1)   I feel like I am bad at the chit chat stuff, so my post are always short.  I really want to get better at this.  So hopefully you will be seeing longer post.

2)  Valentine's Day - It isn't one of those big holidays around my house.  In fact, my husband and I never exchange gifts.  I do like making Valentine's Day cards and crafts, so here are some things I would like to work on over the next couple of weeks.  Do you have any traditions for the day?  Any recipes? Feel free to share.

Candy Heart Centerpiece = I like this, but I don't normally get flowers for Valentine's and since it  is still winter, there aren't any in my flowerbeds.  Maybe I will try it with a candle inside.  I love candles.  I wonder if it will get hot enough to mess up the candy.

Last year, I really got into making wreaths.  I love changing them out.  I am thinking about making this one for Valentine's Day.  I will have to take my Alabama Roll Tide one off but football is over so I guess it is time for a new one.

I thought these would make some good Valentine's Day cookies.

3)  Several years ago, I started using knitting looms.  The only time I pull them out is during the winter months.  I usually just make hats and scarves for the local hospital.  This year, I want to figure out how to make socks.

4)  This weekend's forecast warmer and rainy.  Up to 55 on Saturday.  This is unheard of for January in Michigan.

That's it for this week.  Next week,  I will try to have more.

Back to Work

Today was the first day back to school since Christmas break.  It was a good day.  Usually the kids are tired and cranky.  But I thought they were in pretty good spirits.  I didn't take any pictures today, but maybe I will find something to shot tomorrow.

Tonight is the big BCS championship game.  For those that don't know, it is the championship game for college fooball.  My family are big Alabama fans so we will be watching the game.

That's it for now.  Have a good day.
