Birthday Cake

Saturday, October 13th was my birthday.  Here is my cake.  A very dear friend made it for me.  I thought it came out really good.

Pages are working again

For some unknown reason, my page links quit working.  I went back in and redid all of the links and they are back working.

The rose here is one from my neighbor's rose bush.  I have seen so many beautiful roses this year.  There are more over on the photo page.

I think tomorrow I am going to go to one of the local parks and just take some pictures.  Hopefully there will be a new post tomorrow night.

I also started working on my Halloween cards and I have two new cards to post.  I think I will make a tutorial for one of them.  I have never written one so it should be interesting.  I am going to start with a picture tutorial.  I don't think I am ready to do a video tutorial yet.

I hope everyone is doing well.  And since it is already Thursday, I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Beautiful Weather

The weather here in Michigan has been beautiful.  Cool nights and warm not hot days.  I have been busy trying to get some things done.

I hate posting without a picture so I am using another one from Trestle Park.  I will be posting all of them on the photo page in just a few minutes.

I hope everyone has a great day or night which ever may be the case.

Checking In

Where did last week go?  It has been so busy since school started back. Between my two jobs, I haven't had a day off since Labor Day. 

I love to take pictures but I don't get as many chances to use my cameras since my son graduated from high school.  I am going to start taking at least one afternoon a week to go somewhere. 

This week I went to Trestle Park.  It was such a pretty afternoon.  The park has extensive walking trails.  I spent a half an hour just walking the trails.

All about my week

Hello everyone.  I hope you have had a great week.  My whole household are big college football fans.  We love to watch SEC football.  I think it is one of the toughest divisions out there.  Our favorite team is the University of Alabama.  Over the next few weeks, you will probably hear alot about Alabama.

We had our opening game last Saturday against University of Michigan.  We live in Michigan so this was a big game for us.  We went over to some friend's house to watch the game and have dinner.  It was a great night.  Needless to say, Alabama won.

Monday was Labor Day in the good ole USA.  I had the day off and it was probably the last day off for a while.  I didn't do alot.  My husband and I just relaxed and enjoyed the day.

Tuesday school started back and that meant back to work for me.  I am a cook at the local school (K-12), so we feed about 1200 kids lunch and 300 kids breakfast.  The first week is always hectic.  This year even more, because we have new federal guidelines.  You can read the basic guidelines here.  It looks good on paper but it is a lot of extra week and food.  So far, the kids have been very accepting so that helps.

I woke Friday with a migraine and it stayed with me all day.  Today and tomorrow I work my second job.  I have managed to find time to stamp so there are new cards to look at over on the stamping page and I also tried a new recipe.

Last Week of Summer Break

This is my last week of summer break.  I have alot I still want to get down.  But I have had a great summer and my migraines have gotten better.  I am really looking forward to getting back to work, seeing the kids and just getting a schedule back.

It seems strange to say that because my son, Bill, feels the same way every time he comes home for more than two weeks.  He left Saturday.  The house is quiet, even though he is usually in his room.  I miss him when he is gone, but I know he enjoys being out on his own.

I haven't been on the treadmill yet, so I guess I had better get on it.

Long week

This has been a really long week.  I spent two days at the doctor's office then, Wednesday and Thursday, I cleaned house and just spent time with my son.  He left this morning heading back to college.  Last year, he came home once a month, I think it will be more like every six weeks this year.  I may be wrong but I think he will be busy.  I worked yesterday and today and I will be working again tomorrow.

I made a to do list today for next week.  It will be my last week at home before school starts back.  I am a cook at our local school (K-12).  The list is every thing I want to get done before I go back.  The list is four pages (5X7 pages) long.  I only have Monday thru Wednesday to get it all done.  I am working my second job Thursday thru Sunday.  I will let you know how much I get done.

I haven't decided how I am going to let you know I have posted on the other pages so for now, I posted on the Stamping and Health & Fitness pages this week.  I will try to find a recipe for the recipe page tonight.  I want to get my photography page up next week, too.
